I'm lacing 'em up for Jordan
I am reaching out to you again this year to once again ask for your support as I take to to the ice in remembrance of my son Jordan. As you know, we lost Jordan almost 6 years now at 16 years old.
On July 27th, I will once gain be pulling a jersey over my head, taping my stick and hitting the ice, playing the game Jordan loved so much, to raise awareness of and research into ARVC - the rare, undiagnosed (as it so often is), inherited heart condition that took Jordan’s life in 2013. But before I lace up my skates, I am once agin asking for your support. By donating to me, you are fueling crucial research and innovation at the QEII’s Inherited Heart Disease Clinic in Halifax. With your generosity over the past six years, we have been able to establish dedicated research positions, have a young cardiologist from Halifax do an internship at the world renowned Mayo Heart Clinic and bring that expertise back to Nova Scotia, start to expand the Inherited Heart Disease Clinic to treat more patients, and accelerate pivotal ARVC research and innovation for Atlantic Canadians.
Like me you had probably never heard of ARVC let alone its devasting impact. The truth is Nova Scotia has the second highest incidence of ARVC in Canada. The life-saving research that you help fund takes place at the QEII’s Inherited Heart Disease Clinic - the first of its kind established in Canada.
I know you are asked to support many causes but I would once again be grateful if you were able to make a donation to my cause. In the event that you are not able to, thank you for your past support and taking the time to consider this.
